The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a not-for-profit 501©(3) organization founded in December of 1995 for the purpose of promoting and enhancing the quality of education of Minority Hispanic students and to empower and create leaders among our minority youth.
In the past 24 years, the SFLHCC Foundation has positioned itself as a leader among foundations that offer scholarships to financially disadvantaged senior high school students who plan to attend college.
The SFLHCC Foundation offers scholarships annually to graduating Sr. high-school seniors, community-college students seeking to transfer to four-year universities, continuing university students seeking to complete their degrees and to students in graduate and professional programs. Students must demonstrate that they come from financially disadvantaged families in order to qualify. In the past 24 years, over $750,000 have been awarded in scholarships. According to the new US Census, Miami-Dade County is one of the top five counties with most Hispanics in the U.S. Investing in our students today benefits the future of all!!
The SFLHCC Foundation, in partnership with Southwest Airlines, offers minority students who meet the requirements, to apply to its Education Enhancement Fellowship Program. This fellowship program provides students with the opportunity to attend an annual conference in a different city of the US and spend three days of full of activities that enhances their education.
The SFLHCC Foundation offers paid internships to students of the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism of MDCP-S. It is proven that students who are given an opportunity to learn and work in a business environment are able to perform better once hired by a company upon graduation. We need donations from corporations in order to continue with these great programs for our youth.
