Celebrating Black History Month Every February, Black History Month provides an opportunity to reflect on African American history, culture, and contributions. Evolving from Carter G. Woodson's "Negro History Week" in 1926 to a month-long celebration in 1976, it honors past achievements and ongoing impacts across society. It encourages the celebration of historical figures like Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., literary icons like Maya Angelou, and modern change-makers in various fields. Participation can involve engaging with educational content, attending events, or supporting Black-owned businesses, fostering dialogue and progress toward an equitable future. Happy Black History Month.
