SFLHCC President Liliam M. Lopez recently attended the prestigious USHCC National Convention held in Kansas City, an event recognized as the largest congregation of Hispanic business leaders in the United States. This annual convention is a pivotal platform for fostering new business opportunities, exchanging innovative ideas, and empowering the Hispanic business community. Participation in such a significant event underscores the SFLHCC's commitment to advancing the interests and success of Hispanic entrepreneurs and businesses. The SFLHCC eagerly anticipates the valuable outcomes that will emerge from engaging with fellow visionaries and aligning strategies for mutual growth and success. Trailblazing Voices: SFLHCC President Liliam M. Lopez and Dr. Antonia Coello Novello at the USHCC National Convention

SFLHCC President Liliam M. Lopez had the honor of attending the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) National Convention. One of the highlights of this convention was the opportunity to meet Dr. Antonia Coello Novello, the trailblazing first woman and Hispanic Surgeon General of the United States, appointed during the Bush administration. Dr. Novello's presentation captivated the audience with her unyielding spirit, intelligence, and personable demeanor. Known for being blunt, direct, and witty, she shared insights from her remarkable career and life journey, inspiring attendees to delve into her book, "Duty Calls: Lessons Learned From an Unexpected Life of Service." This work offers profound lessons from her extraordinary public service and medical path. "What an incredible honor, Doctora!" remarked Lopez, signifying her admiration and anticipation for the valuable insights Dr. Novello's book will provide.

Ramon "Ray" Coto currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the University of Miami Health System (UHealth) and the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. Prior to joining UHealth, Ray served in senior finance roles at Nicklaus Children’s Health System, Molina Healthcare of Florida, Baptist Health System of South Florida, and United Healthcare of Florida. He started his professional career with the international professional services firm of Deloitte & Touche, where he helped lead the health sciences sector for Deloitte’s South Florida practice.
